Department of Mathematics and Computer Science

What kind of software? Linux!

This system is the primary web server for the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Besides deparment related web pages, it also serves as a local mirror of Fedora distributions. (However, access to the mirror is currently limited to users on the University of Puget Sound campus or have access via VPN.)

For those who are interested in Ubuntu and other Debian derivitive distributions, there is also a student managed system which mirrors Ubuntu releases and other good stuff. (It is also limited to campus access.)

Access to this system

This system responds to HTTP requests to ports 80 and 443 from the whole Internet.
It responds to NTP queries from the whole Internet.
It responds to SSH connections from the Puget Sound campus and list of external IP addresses. (Contact rbentson AT ups DOT edu to be added to this list.)
